- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (for topping)
Instructions
- Cook the elbow macaroni in a large pot of salted boiling water for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour to create a roux, then gradually add milk while stirring to prevent lumps. Cook until thickened.
- Add cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese along with salt and pepper to the sauce and stir until melted.
- Combine the drained macaroni with the cheese sauce until well-coated.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with breadcrumbs.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and crispy on top. Let cool slightly before serving.
