- 5 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 cup butter, divided
- 1 cup whole milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- Β½ tsp black pepper
- Β½ tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Boil the potatoes until tender, then drain and mash them with Β½ cup of butter and milk until smooth and creamy. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until fully melted and incorporated into the mashed potatoes.
- Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease a 9Γ13-inch baking dish with the remaining butter.
- Spread the cheesy mashed potato mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
