  • 1 large round loaf of bread (sourdough or Italian)
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, mayonnaise, softened cream cheese, celery, onion, parsley, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well and season with salt to taste.
  3. Slice off the top of the bread loaf and set aside. Hollow out the inside, leaving about 1 inch of bread around the edges.
  4. Fill the hollowed bread with the chicken mixture.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
  6. Place the lid back on the bread.
  7. Wrap the entire loaf in aluminum foil.
  8. Bake for 30-40 minutes. Remove the foil during the last 10 minutes to allow the cheese to melt and the bread to brown.
  9. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
