- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 cans (6 oz each) tomato paste
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 egg
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients by dicing the onion and mincing the garlic.
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 30 minutes.
- Assemble the lasagna by spreading a thin layer of meat sauce in a baking dish. Layer with three lasagna noodles, ricotta with egg, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella on top.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes, until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
