- ½ cup whole milk

- ½ tsp dried thyme
- 2 tbsp butter (for greasing the dish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Thinly slice potatoes and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
- Layer potatoes and cheese in the dish, repeating until all ingredients are used, finishing with cheese on top.
- In a saucepan, combine cream, milk, garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme. Heat until warm (not boiling) and pour over potatoes.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake 20-25 more minutes until golden and tender. Rest 10 minutes before serving.
